This article covers how to transfer a domain to or from Wonderweb, and how to use advanced DNS features like parking a domain to a folder.
Transferring a Domain to Wonderweb
If you want to move a domain from another registrar to us, follow these steps:
- At your current registrar, unlock the domain for transfer.
- Request an EPP (authorisation) code. You usually get this by email or from your control panel.
- Contact us via WhatsApp or email with the domain name and the EPP code.
- We will initiate the transfer and inform you when it is complete. Transfers usually take 24-72 hours.
Note that domain transfers also extend the registration by one year (the cost includes the renewal).
Transferring a Domain Away from Wonderweb
We do not have a fully automated EPP code system. To transfer your domain to another registrar, contact our support team via WhatsApp or email. We will verify your identity and provide the EPP code. There is no fee for this service.
Once you have the EPP code, give it to your new registrar. They will start the transfer. After the transfer completes, the domain will no longer be managed by us.
WHOIS Privacy
Some TLDs allow WHOIS privacy (hiding your personal contact details). We do not guarantee WHOIS privacy for all domains – availability depends on the registry. If you need privacy, contact us and we will check if it is possible for your specific TLD. In many cases, we can enable it at no extra cost, but we cannot promise.
Pointing a Parked Domain to a Specific Folder
If you have a domain that you are not using for a separate website but want to redirect visitors to a folder on your main domain, you can do this with a redirect:
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to Domains → Redirects.
- Choose the parked domain from the dropdown.
- Leave the source path blank or set it to
/. - Set the destination URL to:
https://yourmaindomain.com/foldername. - Choose 301 or 302 redirect.
- Click Add.
Alternatively, you can create a subdomain and then redirect that subdomain, but the redirect method above is simpler.
Subdomains on Parked Domains
If you want to create a subdomain on a parked domain (e.g., shop.otherdomain.com) and show different content, you first need to add the domain as an “Addon Domain” in cPanel (not just parked). Then you can create subdomains as usual.
